We will fly from St. Louis, Missouri, USA to Athens, Greece on September 15, then start island hopping and work our way across the Agean Sea to the western coast of Turkey. We travel through Turkey to Istanbul, and fly to Cairo, Egypt. After a month of pyramids, sand and scuba diving in Egypt, we will fly to Jo'burg, South Africa. We will try to quickly get to Cape Town, then travel along the southern coast to Durban and maybe an inland game park or two before leaving South Africa. In Zambia we hope to see Vic Falls, raft the Zambezi River, and see some crocs at close range in a canoe safari. We may cross into Botswana for a short time to see the wildlife-rich Okavango Delta. From Zambia we will fly to Nairobi, Kenya, which will be our transportation base for trips to Tanzania (relaxing on Zanzibar and visiting the Serengeti) and Uganda (rafting the source of the Nile). We fly back to the USA on January 15, with a two day layover in Amsterdam, where we hope to meet up with some friends we made in Bolivia this past June (see our photo-journal for South America on this site).
